IMO 2013: Two bronze, three honourable mentions

The medal cuts were set this year at gold 31, silver 24, and bronze 15, giving us two bronze medals and three honourable mentions. Our award winners were:

Bronze medal:
  • Byung-Cheol Cho (Auckland Grammar School)
  • George Han (Westlake Boys’ High School)
Honourable mention:
  • Jaehwan Kim (King’s College)
  • Vincent Qi (Auckland International College)
  • Ian Seong (Macleans College)

Overall we were placed 48th equal of 97 nations, tied with Austria and host country Colombia. Full results can be found on the official IMO page.

    Well done, everyone! Not as lucky as you’d hoped with the medal cuts, but not as unlucky as you might have been, either. Once again, as representatives of a small country, you’ve done very well in your overall placing and must be pleased with gaining two points more than last year.
